One
hundred twenty students, Eighteen Teachers, Nine non-teaching staffs
from Arunodaya English Boarding School, Ghailadubba Headed to "Taltal
Taliya" , Itahari, Sunsari for picnic loaded in two school buses. The
place we find was amazing and a best picnic spot in comparision to all
the picnic spots in the eastern development region as it had seventy six
bigah of land plot only for picnic which can provide space for
thousands of picnic groups in well manged way. The Parking charges they
take for one bus is 50 rupee and for the spot they charge only 500 rupee
per group and provide a good security, electricity supply, water
facilities and the money paid is spend in development of that place.
There is a zoo where the students can see wild life and the natuaral
view of several lakes, springs and the forest, temples are exotic. Tal
Talaiya is another watershed that has been converted into a popular
picnic spot, much like Betana. Located on the fringes
of Itahari, the crossroads of Eastern Nepal as all roads lead to
Itahari here in the East, it is the starting point if one wants to get
anywhere in the East. Tal Talaiya has struck a chord with the locals, in
a place where picnics and parties seem to be synonymous. During my
visit to Tal Talaiya, it all looked and sounded like a big party with
several loudspeakers playing loud English, Nepali , Rajbanshi and Hindi
music and people drinking and dancing. An entire ecosystem of hotels,
restaurants and mini-grocery stores revolves around the subculture of
partying on the territory of Mother Nature. In addition, Tal Talaiya
itself has a wonderful ecosystem of its own, several species of birds
and animals, which to be witnessed, will require one to divorce himself
from the partyanimals at the heart of the Tal Talaiya and makes his way
into the wild. We reached there around 10:00 am and started our picnic
day with sip of tea and pop rice cum bhujiya. The surprise game was
played for a while accompanied by antakshari and the group were divided
for site visit and Zoo visit. Finally same comment was from the
students, teachers and staffs that " tal taliya's picnic was really
memorable for all and said a very good bye tal taliya at 4:00 Pm
evening."
